What happened?
If a Prusa Printer with a CoreXY detects a crash, the printer will attempt to find a reference point through a procedure called precise homing. If the right and left sides are not aligned, the precise homing will fail, and this error will be shown.
Error name: Precise Refinement Failed
Error code: #17102 (XL) #31102 (CORE One)
How to fix it?
Check the belt tension (Adjusting belt tension (CORE One) or Adjusting belt tension (XL)) and adjust it if needed. Ensure that the printer's right and left sides are perfectly aligned.
After correctly adjusting the belts, the two plastic parts on the sides of the rail should reach the front of the axis together.

Freshly built kit and no amount of adjusting and belt tensioning will permit it to pass it's Y-Axis calibration.
The print head just bangs and clatters around in the front RH corner for several minutes, then the machine reboots and gives this red failure warning (Precise Refinement Failed
#17102 (XL) #31102 (CORE One)
My first Prusa, and fast approaching losing faith in it already. Reading the official Prusa forums, it's also clear that I'm not the only one struggling with this issue on the Core One.

I had had the same problem with the Core One I just got after ordering in January. Sounds like a trend! After a few tries at homing I’m off to try adjusting belt tension…

Today I received the fully built Core One printer I ordered back in December. I managed to get it to the point where the Selftests are performed. Several tests are noted, the first of them being the fan tests which worked out well. The second test was the Y axis test and resulted in a screen saying:
PRECISE REFINEMENT FAILED
Consider adjusting belt tension.

Assuming I'm likely to be the person who will have to deal with this problem, can anyone provide any clues as to how best to approach dealing with this problem? Many thanks in advance!

Additional diagnosics may be necessary if fix noted here fails. Experienced similar issue with 2th XL and final fix was result of tightening loose set screws on both X any Y axis motor Pulleys
