Some options will not appear when PrusaSlicer is in Simple mode.

Starting from PrusaSlicer version 2.4.0, the feature Fuzzy Skin is available in PrusaSlicer. The Fuzzy skin feature lets you create a rough fiber-like texture on the sides of your models. If enabled, the perimeter will be resampled with a random step size and each new sample point will be shifted inside or outside of the perimeter by a random length limited by the Fuzzy skin thickness. This simple algorithm produces surprisingly nice results suitable for tool handles or just to give the print surface a new interesting look or to hide print imprecisions. You can also use modifiers to apply fuzzy skin only to a portion of your model.

You'll find Fuzzy skin settings in Print settings -> Layers and perimeters.

Fuzzy skin type

You can select to apply Fuzzy skin only to Outside walls or to All walls.

Fuzzy skin type set to Outside walls (left), All walls (right)

Fuzzy skin thickness

The maximum distance that each skin point can be offset (both ways) is measured perpendicular to the perimeter wall.

Fuzzy skin thickness 0.1 mm (left), 0.3 mm (right)

Fuzzy skin point distance

Perimeters will be split into multiple segments by inserting Fuzzy skin points. Lowering the Fuzzy skin point distance will increase the number of randomly offset points on the perimeter wall.

Fuzzy skin point distance 0.5 mm (left), 1.0 mm (right)

Fuzzy skin modifier

You can use modifiers to apply fuzzy skin only to a portion of your model.

  1. Right-click a model and pick Add modifier - [Select modifier type].
  2. Position the modifier so that it overlaps with your model
  3. Right-click the modifier and choose Add settings - Fuzzy Skin
  4. In the pop-up window, select which settings you wish to modify
  5. Change Fuzzy skin to External perimeters or All Perimeters
  6. Optionally, you can edit other Fuzzy Skin settings as well

The links might need to be updated? I clicked in the option box below fuzzy skin and it took me here for some reason. The option box was called "only one perimetre" with two options in it.
How come documentation isn't prepared at the same time and new features?

I know it's only been a month since the last comment, but I'd like to +1 that although it works well on outside perimiters, any modifiers (like blocking off a connector) will add extra walls inside the part. Sometimes this is fine, but it is unexpected and punishing to a user. Don't punish your users (go read "the design of everyday things" if you do UI design at all). Using the support painter to paint-on fuzzy skin is probably the better way to handle this option. When attempting to use it, that was my immediate thought: "I need that tool to do this task, not these modifiers that are causing other issues". You don't need to fix the modifiers, you need to allow painting. But thank you all! Prusaslicer is a fantastic tool and the dev team is obviously hard at work keeping up with all the revolutions in 3d printing!
